Privacy Policy

Our calculators run in your browser and we never ask for your phone or vehicle number. Here is everything else we collect and why.

This Privacy Policy explains how idvcalculator.com (“we”, “us”) at https://idvcalculator.com/ handles information when you use our website. We have tried to keep it short and honest.

1. Calculators: nothing is sent to us

Values you enter in our calculators (prices, dates, premiums) are processed by JavaScript in your browser. They are not sent to our server and are not stored. If you use “Share this calculation”, the values are placed in the link you share — anyone with the link can see them.

2. Information you give us

If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, topic and message. We use them only to reply and to improve the site. Messages are stored in our website’s admin area and delivered to our mailbox; we keep them for up to 24 months and then delete them, or sooner if you ask. Please do not send policy numbers, registration numbers, bank details or other sensitive information.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting server records technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) for security and troubleshooting. If we use an analytics service, it collects similar information about how pages are used, in aggregate.

4. Cookies and local storage

  • Theme preference: your light/dark mode choice is saved in your browser’s local storage (idvc-theme).
  • Translation: if you choose a language, a cookie named googtrans remembers it, and the page is translated by Google Translate. When you use translation, the page content is sent to Google to be translated, under Google’s privacy policy.

5. Advertising (Google AdSense)

We may show ads served by Google and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown.

6. Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information and do not share it with insurers, agents or brokers. We share information only with service providers who help run the site (hosting, email delivery, analytics, advertising) or when required by law.

7. Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, you may ask us to access, correct or erase personal information you have given us, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance. 8. Children

This site is intended for adults who own or plan to buy vehicles. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Security

We use HTTPS and keep our software updated. No website can guarantee complete security, which is another reason our calculators avoid collecting your data at all.
