Our standards
- Primary sources first. Rules and rates come from policy wordings, IRDAI publications and Government notifications — not from other blogs.
- Show the working. Wherever we state a number, we show how it is calculated or link to the calculator that produces it.
- Say what we don’t know. If a figure varies by insurer (add-on prices, IDV bands, discounts), we say so instead of presenting one insurer’s number as a rule.
- No sales pressure. We do not recommend specific insurers or products and are not paid for placements.
How an article is produced
- We pick topics from real questions vehicle owners ask when buying, renewing or claiming.
- We research the rule from primary sources and test it with our calculators.
- A draft is written. We may use software tools, including AI writing assistants, to help draft, structure or edit; a human editor checks every fact, figure and example against the sources before publishing.
- Each article shows its author and the date it was last updated. Where a qualified reviewer has checked an article, their name is shown.
Updates and corrections
We review our calculators and guides whenever IRDAI or the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways notifies a relevant change, and at least once a year. If you find an error, contact us. We correct factual errors promptly and update the article’s date.
Advertising and independence
We may display ads to fund the site. Ads are clearly separate from content, advertisers cannot influence what we write, and our calculators never favour any insurer. We do not accept payment for links or reviews.
Not advice
Our content is general information. It is not insurance, legal or financial advice, and it does not replace your insurer’s quote or policy wording. See our Disclaimer.
