Every year millions of car and bike owners in India renew their insurance by clicking on the cheapest quote. Very few check the one number that decides what they get if the vehicle is stolen or written off — the Insured Declared Value, or IDV. Quotes that look cheap often carry a lower IDV, and the difference only shows up on the worst day of ownership.
idvcalculator.com was built to fix that. Our calculators apply the same age-wise depreciation schedule that insurers use, show the formula behind every figure, and let you compare quotes on cover per rupee rather than price alone.
What we do

Articles are researched from primary sources — policy wordings, IRDAI publications and Government notifications — and checked against the calculators before publishing.
